ENGLANDS LEADING OWNERS Aga Khan Tops List "With Total of 08,524 Lord Derby Second, S. B. Joel Third. LONDON, England, Dec. 15. Aga Khan, chiefly through the winnings of Teresina. Dlaphont. Mumta Mahal, Salmon Trout and Charles Mount, headed the list of winning owners on the English turf for the year 1924. His horses, mcst of which he purchased as yearlings, earned a total of ?20S,-524. more than 0,000 . in excess of his closest rival. The list of the fifty-nine leading winners, just issued, contained many surprises. Lord j Derby, who won the Epsom Derby with ! Sansivino, and who led the list for the last two years, finished second. S. B. Joel was third. Sir E. Hulton. Lord AVoolavington, I Lord Astor and Lord Roseberry were the ! next in order. The first four won more than 00,000 each. His majesty, the King, had a very unsuccessful year. He won only two races, his total winnings being only 4,516. He was forty-fifth in the list of winning owners. A. K. Macombcr. the American breeder and owner, who also races on the continent.! finished fifteenth, with, a total of 1,695, while Captain Jefferson Colin earned ,752. These two sportsmen were more successful on the French turf. Aga Khans horses were trained by R. A. Dawson, and he was the most successful trainer of the year. j 32. C: Elliot, who tied with Steve Donoghue in 1923, was the leading jockey this year. Jones, another apprentice, also led Donoghue. j Lord Derby bred the majority of the horses j that carried his colors, and he was the leading breeder of the year.
