w LEXINGTON TURF NOTES LEXINGTON, Ky., May 4. S. T. Baxter claimed Ramble out of the ■ first race at a cost of ,500. Homing Bird was claimed from the second race Saturday by P. Stanton at a cost of ■ ,700. Jockey E. Petzoldts riding license has been refused by the Kentucky State Racing Commission. He is under the ban at Tijuana. Trcacy and Walker bought Uncle Bob prior to the running of the second race and he i ran in their colors. E. J. Heffenian has taken over the horses ; racing la the name of J. Hedderman. The I band includes Sanola. The gold cup, donated by J. N. Camden to the winner of the Camden Handicap Saturday, was presented to owner Brownell Combs by Mayor llogan Yancey of Lexington. Jockey W. Fronk was called to Louisville where he will work Iee O. Cotner tomorrow and, conditionally on the colts showing in 1 ! his trials, will depend his starting in the rich 1 Ireakness Stakes. If the track is satisfactory " he will be shipped at once to Pimlico. Beau Butler, in charge of Ben Leigh, was returned Sunday afternoon from Baltimore to Idle Hour Stock Farm. He was shipped to Pimlico for the Dixie Handicap, but there track conditions were unsuitable ami he did not start. He made the trip without incident. Hal Price Headley has returned from Pimlico. where he witnessed the running of the Dixie Handicap, in which he had Almadcl and Chacolet as starters. The horses will be kept at the Maryland track for some ! time, Almadel being an intended ■tarter in ; the Ireakness Stakes. Jockey H. Stntts will, on the advice of i doctors, refrain from riding for some time, possibly until after the running of the Ken- tucky Derby. He possibly would have ridden Quatrain in the race had he been fit. | He also was engaged to ride Young Martin, but the latter is said to have gone amiss and will not be asked to. Owner Johnson at present is defending ou B. Breuning to ride Quatrain.
