COVENTRYS INJURIES LESS SEVERE BALTIMORE, Md.. May 13.— Gifford A. Cochran left yesterday for Kentucky where he will attend the sale of the Nursery Stud and witness the running of the Derby. Mr. oi-hran was elated on the receipt of news from trainer Duke that Coventrys injuries were not as severe as was supposed and that there is good chance of the ailing leg responding to treatment. This means that the Preakness winner may be seen in action again this year. Battle Field, which was supposed to be the pick of the band purchased of Mr. Sims, was jumped on and cut down.
