Keith arrived from New Orleans. W. A. Porter, agent of the J. K. B. Ross stable, reported after a long trip from Tijuana. The stewards who have had the protest of E. P. Summerfield under advisement for the past two days announced today that more proof that collusion existed between F. H. Smith and O. W. Foreman would be needed from the protestee. Jockey W. Munden, the western sensation, accepted his first mount here today in the third race on Green Blazes. Jockey F. Hastings was suspended for three days hy starter Milton for disobedience at the post in the second race. W. J. Salmons Punjab, candidate for the important three-year-old stakes, and J. E. Griffiths Canter were given a trial here today for the Chesapeake Stakes. Both horses worked separately, but in the same time of 1 :1C%. E. P. Summerfield, who lodged a protest with the stewards on Friday that when F. H. Smith claimed Night Shade from G. W. Foreman there was collusion, was unable to pro-dtiie stitlicient evidence to substantiate his protest and after a reprimand was allowed to withdraw his claim. An order was issued by the stewards of the meeting that no entries for two-year-old races would be accepted from Bcnnings, unless the horses were schooled by starter Milton and passed by him.
