DEATH TAKES W. D. SCOTT Noted Kentucky Breeder, Owner of Arrow Point Stock Farm, Succumbs to Operation. LEXINGTON*, Ky., April 5.— Daniel W. Scott. G."i, owner of Arrow Point Stock Farm, and breeder of thoroughbred horses for nearly a quarter of a century, died this morning at Good Samaritan Hospital, where he had been for about rive weeks. He had apparently recovered from an operation for appendicitis when pneumonia set in a:id developed an abscess on a lung. This necessitated a second operation, from the effects of which he failed to rally. Mr. Scott was very popular with the people of Fayette County and served one term of four years as sheriff of the county, having been elected on a fusion ticket sixteen years ago. He waa a farmer and livestock breeder rather than a politician. He was very fond of thoroughbred horses having bred and raced them. Sir John Johnson is the stallion at the head of his stud of some twenty mares. The young Knglish stallion White Satin also is at his farm. Surviving Mr. Scott is his widow, Mrs. Maude Reynolds Scott, two sons, Harris P., and K. D. Scott, of Iiexington, and three daughters, Mrs. U. H. Fishback, Miss Frances Scott of Iiexington and Mrs. J. H. McDuffee of Indianapolis. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon.
