BELMONT PARK ACTIVITIES Horses Worked Over the Training Track — Sarazen, Chilhowee and Other Stars in Action. NKW YORK. N. Y., April 5.— Although the Belmont Park main course was closed to training operations and the training track was slow and in poor condition, there was considerable activity at the Nassau county plant Monday morning. A number of trainers bad their charges out for slow exercise over the bumpy surface of the training track and a few horses were sent out for gallops fast enough gait to justify consideration as workouts. Chilhowee, the Swingalong Stable star, which recently arrived from Iiexington, was sent an easy half mile in :50%. He was under restraint all the way. going the first quarter in :24*r, and three-eighths in 57%. Chilhowee appears to have recovered from the ailment which kept him out of competition last year and he is training in a way to suggest that he may be a formidable factor in the handicap division during the coming racing season on metropolitan tracks. Chance Play and High Star, from the Fog Cabin Stud Stable, worked three-eighths together in :37%. Itoth were under sharp restraint and completed their task easily. Sarazen, Mrs. W. K. Vanderbilt II.s star, was sent a slow five-eighths in 1 :12. He appears close to racing condition. B R. Thomas Morning Telegraph, formerly Swope. also impressed the work watchers with his appearance. He worked three-eighths in 1 :23 under stiff restraint.
