Kearns • Coral Reef, ridden by jockey Bamberson, registered his second win of the week in i taking the measure of Traproe and Myrtle , Belle handily during the running of the Tip » Toe Handicap, fifth and feature race of the half-holiday card at Beulah Park today. .Myrtle Belle went into the lead shortly after . the start, followed closely by Coral Reef. In straightening out in the stretch. Coral Reef - ! came up on the outside of Myrtle Belle and I drew away under slight urging and was I | going away at the end. Traproe, closing , resolutely on the outside of Myrtle Belle in j the last few strides, outgamed the latter for . second place. The afternoons races were contested over . a rapidly trying out track and the brand . of sport provided was above the ordinary. Pain threatened intermittently throughout ! the afternoon. This did not curtail the at-t« " ndance and the largest crowd of the meeting attended. . Another surprise came with the running of j the sixth race when Battle Shot led the way at all stages and scored a handy win from | The Colonel and Lucky Run. The Colonel [ just lasted to save second place from Lucky j Run in the final drive. Aristotle took the measure of his opponents handily in annexing the victory in the ! opening race. In this, Oak was in a jam 1 I at the far turn and lost his rider. Miles S. proved a surprise in SOSriag B 1 decisive victory in the second race. Taking the lead entering the home stretch, the win-I n. r drew away into an easy lead in the last 1 eighth. County Times outran his opponents ; throni boot the running of the third race and scored for R. Lucas. After a keen stretch duel in whi. h Royal 1 George, Silent Lillian and Vborflor battled i tosely right to the end. Royal George proved gamer of the three and he gained the advantage " by a narrow margin In the closing strides. Mason Towle led all the w ay to win the closing race after a driving finish. Under a 1 rousing ride by .1. Connors, Mason Towle J was hard pressed to stall off Gen. Cadorna 1 in the last seventy yards. The latter was s .slowly wearing the winner down and would 1 have won in a few more strides. .
