Dick Welles Selections At Lexington UP SHE GOES— COLONEL SCHOOLER— —TOP LADY. IIP SHE GOES dopes to be the winner of the opening number. This speedy filly by Huon fared pretty well while racing at Dade Park and Itaeeland last year and has been working in a manner to suggest that she will win hor share of purses this season. COLONEL SCHOOLER looks like a different horse after his long winters rest and if appearances count for anything, will be the one to take down the place money. TOP LADY is reported in goou form right now and may be good enough to save the show money. FREDERICK RAPHAEL is still a maiden, but has to be given some consideration in the race. TWO SIXTY— SWORDSMAX-SI X DAXCE. TWO SIXTY ran a good second to General Haldeman last Tuesday and on the strength of that showing we are choosing him to be home the winner here today. He ran an even race throughout and only needs to go as well in this number to cop. SWORDSMAN, from the Whitney barn, had a few races at Miami, as well as one race here. His last effort should be thrown out, as he is capable of showing to much better advantage. SUN DANCE, a favorite from the stable of J. N. Camden, did not fare so well in his maiden effort, but may do better with the experience he gained from that race. HALL— STONE AGE— 0i ALES. Old HAH has had about as much racing as any horse, but is still able to win races, as evidenced by his winning performance Tuesday. Durnell has the son of King James right on edge at present and hes got the win chalked up already as far as we are concerned. STONEAGE put in a strenuous winter campaign and more than earned his way. His last race here should have served as a tightener and we are looking to him to be closer up in this start. NOGALES last race gives him the edge to land in third place, but he wont have any easy time of it, as CHEREBU is expected to cause some trouble before the race is over. MENIFEE— BROOMSTER— HAPPY TOP. The fourth, known as the Versailles Purse, brings out a good band of sprinters and the consistent MENIFEE is the one looked for to score. He raced exceedingly well last year and if he has not lost any of his 1925 form, expect him to down this bunch without much trouble. For the place we are picking BROOMSTER. This son of Broomstick, which races for L. T. Cooper, more than held his own at Miami the past winter and was up in time to save third money in his last start here. Should he go as well today, think he could save the "place: HAPPY TOPS last race was such that it indicated that he is going to prove a useful animal this year. If he shows any improvement over his last start think he could account for the show money. BOBS BEST is reported to have had some fine workouts of late and he may prove dangerous. MARCONI— BREAKFAST BELL— GEORGIE. The Frankfort Purse, companion feature to the fourth race, brings the Lawrence Realization winner, MARCONI, to the post. That he is in winning form is a foregone conclusion. His win on opening day was achieved in a most convincing manner and. while he is asked to give away chunks of weight to all his opponents today, he should not experience any trouble in winning. BREAKFAST BELL closed her 1025 career with a second to the speedy Rothermel and we are looking for the Idle Hour racer to be the closest to the winner in todays race. She is in light and should give a good account of herself on her first appearance this year. GEORGIE and TOKbN rate next best, with the former holding a slight advantage over the Whitney starter. FOURTEEN SIXTY— INDIAN LOYE CALL — CANAAN. FOURTEEN SIXTY raced like a good one in her only start and on that race we are picking her to again be the winner. She was off with the rise of the barrier and setting all her own pace kept to her task long enough to take the purse with half a length to spare. INDIAN LOVE CALL did nothing but finish in the money at Miami, and a race race to that form would find him the contender in todays race. CANAAN is well thought of by his owners and may do well enough to get the show money today. He was in good condition when the Miami meeting came to a close and if he has retained to that form would find him the con-failed miserably in her last start here but can do much better. OLD TOM— MARIAL BARTON— MARGATE. OLD TOM can travel over any kind of going and taking a line through his last race which was a win, we are expecting him to again be home first He picks up quite a few pounds over his last start but that should not stop him. MARIAL BARTON was evidently a little short in her race Monday and the effort should have served as a tightener. Look for her to be closer up today. MARGATE came back to the races this year with a second to Bobby last Wednesday, and if that race is a true indication of her form she will furnish plenty of trouble in the race. ANDRY is nearing winning form and he may spring a surprise.
