REFUSE BOTANIC ENTRY LOUISVILLE Ky May 15 At the eleventh hour Lew Bloom attempted to add Botanic to the Derby field While it is required under the condi ¬ tions that prospective starters be named through the entry box the day before the running Mr Bloom had failed to observe that condition His communication to the stewards asked permission to declare In Botanic so that tho public who had wagered on his horse would be afforded protec ¬ tion The stewards denied his request on the natural grounds that he had not lived up to the conditions to which he agreed when he had made his entry
