COLONEL VENNIE BURIED Noted Kentuckians Body Interred InterredSunday Sunday in Beautiful Cave CaveHill Hill Cemetery LOUISVILLE ICy May 21 While hun ¬ dreds of friends from Louisville Lexington Cincinnati Chicago New York St Louis and other sections of the country stood with bared heads Sunday afternoon the body of Col Andrew Vennie who died suddenly in his office at Churchill Downs Thursday was lowered to its final resting place in beautiful Cave Hill cemetery Among those who paid silent tribute were the many owners and trainers now racing at the local track each of whom felt a personal loss in the untimely death of the one who had so often befriended them in matters pertaining to their business The impressive Episcopal ceremony was said by the Dev Dr Harris Mallinckrodt pa tor of Calvary Episcopal Church at the Pearson chapel at 230 oclock and again at the cemetery chapel No oration was de ¬ livered over the dead turf man A song by Mme Carrie Sapin ended the brief ceremony Many friends in every walk of life who were unable to come to Louisville to attend the funeral sent flowers the casket being banked by some of the most beautiful floral designs seen at a funeral in Louisville
