FAST MAIL HANDILY takes Best Race of Tuesdays Card at Aurora Sister Jo sell a Wins Another for forRoss Ross and Short Polly Atwell AtwellScores Scores Impressively AURORA 111 June L Although over head conditions were favorable a gale swept the course throughout the afternoon Only the horses in the first flight were visable at all times and at intervals the others raced jn a dense cloud of dust obscuring them from view The track was fast and the attend ¬ ance of goodly proportions J Schreiners Fast Mail took the measure of the best field of the card provided at Exposition Park this afternoon when he scored a handy victory in the fifth race from Arragosa and Miss Rosedale Following a slow beginning the son of Peter Quince Plausible moved up strongly on the outside of the leaders racing up the back stretch showed in front by a slight margin rounding the top turn and drew away handily when straightened out in the stretch stretchArragosa Arragosa well up for most of the way was doing his best at the end to save second place from Miss Rosedale which raced prominently throughout Pud tired badly after showing early speed Bobbie Shea and Marjorie C lost much ground at the first turn which ruined their chances chancesOPEXEIl OPEXEIl TO JOE CAMPBELL CAMPBELLTaking Taking command after going the first quarter Joe Campbell had the speed of the contestants in the opening dash He was doing Ins best at the end however to retain a slight lead from the fast finishing Rock ¬ ing which made a resolute bid in the stretch Whiff came from far back to beat the tiring Charles Whitney home for third thirdHawk Hawk Eye set a fast pace until midway of life stretch in the second race when Delphi and Queen of Allah challenged The former worked his way up next to the inner rail and proved the gamer in the final drive Hawk Eye saved third by a length Liberty stumbled and all but fell shortly after the Mart unseating jockey Yelton The lad escaped injury Jockey J Judy rushed Colleen O into the lead shortly after the start in the third event and enjoyed a comfortable lead there ¬ after to win handily Queen of Sheba and J uly Lura followed the leader in this order all through the stretch which was un ¬ changed at the end endAfter After getting away very slowly Polly Atwell closed a tremendous gap to earn the verdict in the sixth race which he eventually accomplished by a length margin Romping Lad also a victim of inferior racing luck inade a resolute bid through the stretch and outstayed the tiring pacemaker Sister Diana Tor second place placeSI SI A XI E HE It BY A HEAD HEADIt It was only after a keen stretch struggle that Slanderer got home by a head in ad ¬ vance of Invigorator in the fourth My liiddy showed the way to the stretch head where Ixitiis A challenged Dustproof and Slanderer also raced up into contending posi ¬ tions at this point When straightened out l ouis A took command only to give way to Slanderer a sixteenth out Invigorator finished with a brilliant rush through the final eighth however and would have beaten Slanderer in a few more strides Rons and Short added to their victories at this meeting when Sister Joiella accounted for the concluding dash She was nicely rated by jockey Allen behind the pace of Battle Shot until reaching the stretch and gaining steadily outlasted the tiring leader during the closing stages Green Hills tired in the last eighth arrl Ilena secured third in a drive from Bad Luck LuckFor For crossing in front of his rivals too sharply after the start of the second race with Hawk lOye jockey CrowelLwas set down for ten days by the stewards He was held responsible for the crowding which caused liberty to all but fall alld lose his rider riderW W ILSallce will ship his extensive stable to latonia tonight tonightChas Chas E Ford was among the afternoon visitors A Johnson owner of Rocking was an ar ¬ rival from Louisville
