Dick Welles Selections SelectionsAt At Aurora LADY ALLEN SMOKY DAY GILMORE GILMOREThe The Frizzle filly LADY ALLEN found her racing legs her last out and as a consequence was able to graduate from the nonwinners ranks She seems to be placed in another good spot today the opener at five and a half furlongs In her last out she was away flying and increasing her advantage with every stride was being eased up at the fin ¬ ish to be home five lengths in front That same effort here should again find her an easy winner SMOKY FIKLD failed miser ¬ ably her last out after putting up a good performance in her preceeding race Taking a line through that effort she should be thp one to race to the place GILMORES last race was quite an improvement over his other starts and while he did not finish among the first three he was but a little over a length away at the finish It was a fast run race and the opposition was a good deal better than he meets here If he would put forth the same effort today he might be good enough to grab off the short end of the purse purseC1IKSTKK1IBOOK C1IKSTKK1IBOOK DESPAIU YOO11OO YOO11OOThe The best play on the card is gleamed in the second number a claiming affair over the threequarters distance This trick isCHES TERBROOK and he should pay a fair price as well In his three races here he had the misfortune of meeting up with horses of a good deal better class than himself Today he meets more of his own speed and we will be very much surprised if he doesnt romp away with the winners share of the money DESPAIR is in the hands of a smart trainer post he will be ready forJi winning r effort Of late he has been competing in distance races but he can also sprint YOOHOO or McCRIMMON appear to be the ones most likely to plug the three hole We like the formers chances the best basing on her Tampa form McCRIMMON has been showing improvement in his recent races and at the finish will not be far awayYrom the others othersDUST DUST FLOWER MONARCHIST SHINDY SHINDYThe The one time speedy DUST FLOWER1 is our pick in the third She showed a flash of her old self inher race before last when she managed toget to the front in the stretch but could not keep up and as a result was beaten off at the end Then in her last 6ut she ran an entirely different kind of a race for she was away slowly but at the finish was gradually malung up ground Both of those races were of a manner to suggest that she may be nearing top form and if so will be a hard ons to beat MONARCHIST raced poorly his only start but he can do much better than that effort indicated Lust year at Hawtorne he met and defeated many good ones and taking a line through those races may prove good enough to get the place today SHINDY is making his first start of the local season He comes from Akron I where he scored in his last out The same brand of racing today would find him close up at the windup windupMONDAY MONDAY MORNING BED HEART MACLEAN MACLEANThere There is speed galore entered in the fourth race and we are expecting the veteran cam ¬ paigner MONDAY MORNING o be the one to score He will only pack IOC pounds and at the weights seems to have an excelr lent chance In his only appearance here this season he was asked to give away weight to such performers as Sanola Thun ¬ der Shower and Strut Miss Xizzie He was in fourth place beaten less than two lengths He should have much easier sailing today for tlie opposition is not near so classy The one that is most feared in the race is RED HEART a winner in his last out He is to carry but 96 pounds and if Hutton puts in that race he will take plenty of beating This racer is well thought of by his stable connections and one time last winter was reported to be a crack MACLEAN should find the opposition more of his own class and one of his good races would see him landing in the third position positionDEEP DEEP THOUGHT CHINK RUMBLING RUMBLINGThe The Naperville Handicap at a mile is the feature race of the day and some good ones are entered The Tijuana performer DEEP THOUGHT is our selection to account for this number He gets in with 105 pounds today and at that weight should put up one of his good races In his two previous starts he carried too much weight for him but at that managed to land the place in his first race when beaten by Sanola He has the speed of this bunch and if away well will make the race interesting for the others CHINK is said to be in good condition at the present If this information is not amiss he will have a lot to say in the running He proved a mighty useful racing tool at Haw ¬ thorne last year and when in form is apt1 to beat any mans horse The best we can see for RUMBLING today is the show True she won her last race with ease but she is not going to find the opposition so easy here hereGUNSIGHT GUNSIGHT CITIZEN LADY CHOCO CHOCOThe The sixth is over the mile and seventy yards route and it seems like a good spot for GUNSIGHT to prove a repeater His last out was in the mud but he performs as well over a fast strip Dugganhas this son of Star Hawk in excellent condition at the present and the same kind of a race as his last one would see hini again leading the others home CITIZEN proved more or less of a surprise in his last race He was ig ¬ nored in the wagering but even that didnt stop him for he went into the lead at tjie rise of the barricr and tnough tiring at the finish managed to stick it out long enough to win by a scant margin If that effort didnt take too much out of him he ma jv be good enough to account for tlie place here j LADY CHDCO showed a decided improve mont inher lastrace and jf she is hack jq her winter form will be a hard one to beat from now on onPROCEEDS PROCEEDS SAGAMOOK SINCERE SINCEREIn In the good night tilt PROCEEDS dopes to be all over the winner He ran a dandy race behind Prodigal his last out and forced the latter to give his best to beat him a head That race should have served as a I tightener and we expect to see him romp home today with plenty to spare SAGA ¬ MOOK should be closest to PROCEEDS at the finish if he races back to his two last starts One cf those found him leading the others home in a canter but that was over a heavy track and we arc not expecting him to do so veil on the fast strip SINCERE raced in good form last winter and then con ¬ tinued to show well at Columbus later She may be the one to land in the three 4 hole MABEL SETH is hot to be overlooked how ¬ ever This filly is thought to be a sprinter but is apt to fool em all over the longer distance One Best Bet CHESTERBROOK in Second Eace
