| AQUEDUCT TURF NOTES —— — — — — — — _ __ _ NEW YORK. N. Y.. June 22. Holly Hughes, trainer for the Sanford Stock Farm, announced today that he would ship to Saratoga on July i. Hughes has no material at present that he is able to race and will freshen up and prepare for the Spa. Thomas Gorman, manager of the Con-naught Park Jockey Club, was a visitor today in the interest of that meeting, which opens on July 8. J. P. Smith. C. P. Kleischmann. K. M. Kelly, A. L. Denny and Krank Kearns will leave in the next few days for Windsor, Ont.. to race at that point. J. J. Brady is arranging shipments to Saratoga and. in addition to the special trains that leave from Empire, a train will leave from Relmont Park ten days before the opening up-state. Nine jockeys are at present under suspension for minor infractions of racing rules. This constitutes a record for Aqueduct. John Walters is due back from Europe next week and. in all probability, will resume his operations in the clubhouse during the Saratoga meeting. Johnny Maiben suffered a badly bruised foot as a result of being crowded into the fence while riding Chance Play. The colt was cut about the flank. Maiden"* injury did not prevent him from riding Gold Lutton to victory in the following race. Kiyi and Valero, from the Lilane Stable, have been added to the auction of horses in training, to be conducted by Charles K. Hills Thoroughbred Sale Company in the Aqueduct paddock on June 3. J. L. Rhinock was an arrival from St. Louis. Mr. Rhinock was at the Collinsville track for the running of the Kairmount Ierby last Saturday. Without going through the necessary formula of obtaining the consent of The jockey Club, it was undertaken to change the name of Yineland to War Klames, and so the colt was entered in the sixth race, but It was pointed out that the consent for the change of the name had not been asked and not granted, so. for that reason, he raced as Vineland. Two horses changed hands in the first race via the claiming route, when A. Carey took Whiskey Run from E. M. Ryers for ,006. and the Ree Ree Stable secured Embers from G. D. Widener for a like amount. At private terms. A. G Rlakcly. acting for the Laurel Park Stud, sold to Mrs. o. Ma-honey the imported mare Clent She was shipped to Montreal along with the Mirasol Stable this morning.
