Won handily: second and third driving. BLUE ROSE forced a good pace from the start, raced in close pursuit of the leaders and. responding readily to hard riding, took the lead and was going away through the final sixteenth. SHORTY began fast and showed the most early speed in the going, then made a game finish. PRINCE BULBO raced forwardly throughout and came fast through the stretch. APPLE PIE raced close up and had no mishaps. DANCINi; ran well. HIGH SEAS showed early speed. ANNE MINOR ran poorly in the going. SUPERSEDE xvas outrun for the first quarter, then raced to the leaders rapidly and. taking the lead on the last turn, came into the better going in the stretch, but had to lie roused up sharply in the last sixteenth to withstand GIANTS rush, but won going away. The latter showed the early speed and gave way to the xvinner on the last turn, but came again in the stretch. ARLESIAN raced xvell and finished gamely. AI.LFEY closed a big gap from a slow beginning. BUCEPHALUS raced well for u half mile and quit. ARTILLERY lacked speed. Won easily: second and third driving. URSA MAJOR raced CHINK into defeat in the first five-eighths, then took a long lead in the stretch and increased his advantage to win in a canter under stout restraint. CHINK set a fast early pace, then raced in closest pursuit of the winner and made several challenges, but was tiring fast at the end. GOLDEN WANDERER raced well, but was never able to improve his position. TRAPMINT raced well under his heavy impost. DUBRIC and DIXIE SMITH were badly outpaced. "1 907 FOURTH RACE— 3-4 Mile. TSarazen. INDIAN LOVE CALL waa outrun for the first three-eighths, then improved his position steadily on the outside and, finishing with high speed, passed JOPAtlAN midway of the stretch and woo going ■ way. JOPAtJAN, hard ridden from the start, raced THE HEATHEN into defeat, but tired after taking the lead when entering the home stretch. CONTEMPLATE came to the outside for the final drive and made a game finish. THE HEATHEN showed the most early speed in the going and saved ground on the turns, but tired after going five-eighths. OlKIEDA raced SPAKKI.l.M. WATEK into defeat and, taking the lead, withstood a challenge from MERCEDES E . but tired in the last eighth. LONG JOE came with a belated rush through the last three-eighths. MERCEDES E. was hard ridden for the entire race and tired. JOHN W. WEBER raced well. C.NOME SECOND quit in the last quarter. DUCKLING also closed a big gap and finished fast. FLEETWOOD, prominent from the start, raced past SHADOWDALE in the stretch, but tired near the finish.
