At Aurora AuroraOne One Best Bet ANNA MABRONE n in the Fourth Race All eyes are turned towards Louisville today where the fiftythird running of the Kentucky Derby takes place Those who were not fortunate enough to make the trip will have to appease their desires by seeing the thoroughbreds in action at Aurora where a mighty fine card has been prepared for the halfholiday The prospects are for an im ¬ proved racing strip and with the good pro ¬ gram offered last Saturdays recordbreaking crowd is apt to be surpassed surpassedThe The Homewood Handicap features the days racing this being over the mile and a sixteenth route and brings some good dis ¬ tance runners into action Supporting the main event are the Naperville Purse an al ¬ lowance affair over the threequarters dis ¬ tance and framed for horses of the older division and the Promenade Purse fash ¬ ioned for twoyearolds over the longer dis ¬ tance of fiveeighths of a mile This is the first time at this meeting that the juveniles have been asked to go this distance distanceThe The going improved immensely Friday and unless more rain makes its appearance the racing strip should border on fast With the class of horses entered for the various events fast time is expected to be recorded and some fine sport should be witnessed witnessedC C T WORTIIINGTON MONASTERY SENOR SENORThrowing Throwing out the last race run by C T WORTHINGTON he stands an excellent chance of scoring in the opening number His two previous races were r both victories and if he should race in the same manner today think he would prove best MONAS ¬ TERY is in top form at the present time and figures to give C T WORTHINGTON a tussle all the way SENOR is not far from a winning trip and may cause some trouble in this field TOPANGO raced far below his best form in his only appearance to date and can do much better betterREDSKIN REDSKIN RODRIGO TOM P PThe The second race at threequarters should see REDSKIN proving a repeater His last race saw him home a handy winner over Senor and a repetition of that last showing should find him in front at the finish again RODRIGO has been working fairly well of late and with his last race serving as a tightener look for him to give a good ac ¬ count of himself today TOM P with two seconds in as many starts appears to be a real danger and he would need to improve but slightly over either of those races to register in this event SUNNYLAND figures to land close up should he start He has been entered many times of late but was scratched in each instance instanceELEVATE ELEVATE 3JILL SETH AROMATIC AROMATICELEVATE ELEVATE has her work cut out for her in the twoyearold number but if she displays the same fine speed and gameness that she did in her last start look for her to add another victory to her credit BILL SETH has won his last two races and he is evi ¬ dently of some class His usual effort should see him chasing ELEVATE across the finish line AROMTIC is bound to be close up at the finish and he may prove to be a hard one to down in his present good form The others are just a bit outclassed outclassedANNA ANNA MABRONE II FLAG OF TRUCE PAULA SHAY SHAYANNA ANNA MARRONE II figures to be the easiest winner of the day in the Naperville Purse She has not been raced since the Miama meeting but her workouts here have all been of high order and there is no doubt that she is ready for the isue FLAG OP TRUCE has been showing improvement with each start and should show well in this com ¬ pany When right this old fellow is a tough one for any horse to beat PAULA SHAY may be good enough to hold the others safe for the short end of the purse CROSS BOW is given consideration on his last race a distinct improvement over his previous start startSUN SUN ALTOS BALBOA FLORENCE MILLS MILLSIn In the Homewood Handicap SUN ALTOS is asked to carry top weight of 125 pounds and give weight to every other starter in the race but he figures to pack his weight and win He demonstrated in his last start that he is in tiptop condition and wpuld only have to show the same brand of speed today to win BALBOA is to carry second top weight 118 pounds but this is apt to prove too much for him and do not expect him to get much better than the place portion of the purse FLORENCE MILLS is in light and should she be in a running mood today may get some part of the coin DEVON holds an outside chance MAGIC WAND has been racing in improved style of late lateBETTY BETTY ELVIRA CLIQUE EAGER EAGERBETTY BETTY ELVIRA with two wins to her credit in her last two starts only has to put up the same kind of a race Saturday to run her string of victories to three in a row CLIQUE is nearing best form and may give BETTY ELVIRA plenty of argument EAGERS usual good race should see him taking down some part of the purse GUN SIGHT should not be ignored his last win ¬ ning trip being a good effort SWEEPTONA is not looked for to prove a repeater in this company companyBARB BARB WIRE LUCY KATE LEXINGTON MAID MAIDA A limit field is expected to go to the post in the concluding number and picking the winner here is no easy task However BARB WIRE seems to be on the improve and may last long enough Saturday to take down the major portion of the purse LUCY KATES last start was a good effort and she would only have to race in the same manner Saturday to get some part of the coin LEX ¬ INGTON MAID is capable of holding the others safe for third if in a running mood GAY BOY II is a little outclassed in this field LITTLE AMMIE may prove a sur ¬ prise FAIRLIGHT and CAPTAIN ADAMS both figure well up and should not be ig ¬ nored
