TWOFORAUDLEYFARM Scores Double at Churchill With Nevermore and Creek Indian Spectacular Racing Enjoyed by Immense Crowd Many Re ¬ maining Over After Derby LOUISVILLE Ky May 1C The Audio Farm Stable got into the limelight during the afternoon with a double scored by its representatives Nevermore and Creek In ¬ dian The latter was in with a band of fairly good threeyearolds that raced seven eighths in what was regarded as the fea ¬ ture offering a purse of 1600 1600Creek Creek Indian was not considered very highly but he raced as if the best and aided by a good ride he came away in the last eighth to win from Sixty the favorite in handy style Sixty had been the leader and at the stretch turn appeared the winner but he tired at the end and it was little effort on Crumps part to send Creek Indian by him Birley M C finished in third place a matter of inches in advance of Canaan Birley M C might have been closer to the leaders at the finish but for D Smiths ac ¬ tion of deliberately racing Sixty wide at the stretch turn and causing interference for Birley M C CFIELD FIELD HORSE WINS WINSThe The sport opened vith a victory for J T Weavers Sincerely grouped in the field There was a generous support for the field and the success of one of the six proved popular although there was a decided tinge of hollowness to the winners success It happened that the saddle on Peach slipped when she was leading an eighth from the finish and W Garner was lucky to stay on her and account for third place Stintson was a prominent factor throughout and finished in second place also racing from behind Peach after Garner was unable to give her his best efforts Valley Light the public choice raced below his best form and finished far back backIn In a thrilling finish at the end of five eighths Sandy Lady was winner from Myth by a nose and eleven other twoyearods in the second race The winner after losing the lead to Myth in the final eighth came again in the last few strides to wear her down It was one of the closest finishes of the meet ¬ ing only a length back of the pair Tchad flyer taking third place placeNEVERMORE NEVERMORE GRADUATES The Audley Stable provided its first win ¬ ner in some time when Nevermore defeated eight otlier maidens of all ages in the Orell Purse at one mile He proved best in a driv ¬ ing finish with Winging and on the strength of some excellent trials had confident back ¬ ing W Garner had the mount and he rode him well keeping him behind Winging until well into the stretch when he slowly urged him past the leader into a lead of a half length in the final drive Candy Rock whch finished third was easily best of the others othersAmong Among the unplaced ones was Red Banner and Belle of Ky the former suffering from weak riding and the latter tiring after a dis ¬ play of early speed speedThe The fourth race which brought out two yearold fillies to race four and a half furlongs resulted in a victory for Katharine W over Miss Lee with Cuddle in third place Katharine W was well ridden and this con ¬ tributed in a great measure to her success for she led for the entire distance find easily held Miss Lee safe when the latter chal ¬ lenged Owena might have been a strong factor but C Lang who has tossed off at least three races for E B McLean during the present meeting showed timidness when he got in close quarters and took his mount out of contention in the last eighth and ruined any possible chance that the filly might have had of getting a part of the purse purseRaving Raving I ady was winner over a small band of ordinary threeyearolds that met in the sixth race After folloxving the pace of Busy Day to the stretch she r ced from behind the leader to win by almost two lengths Betty B a distant third was easily best of he others The winner was ridden by apprentice K Egan his first winning mount since the New Orleans season The stable of S W Grant and J C Fer ¬ ris which includes the threeyearold Fred Jr which raced well in last Saturdays Ken ¬ tucky Derby will be transferred to Fair mount Park for the coming meeting there Fred Jr is an intended starter in the re ¬ newal of the 25000 added Fairmount Derby the most important race to be re ¬ newed there this spring
