" " Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. STERLING SILVER, close lip from the start, was forced wide when passing the elbow, but outfinished CLAIRDINE in the final drive. The latter, on the outside from the -start, took a brief lead at the eighth post, but tired at the end. MONTE CARLO ran out badly when nearing the elbow and forced STERLING SILVER and CLAIRDINE out with him.. TINITA raced well. TRIEZE had no mishaps. JIM BELL was bumped and knocked back at the start. BRANTOME was sour at the post and caused three false starts, but raced into an easy lead qnickly and jumped well throughout, winning in a canter. ERNE II. was outrun for the first turn of the field, but moved up gamely when called on and finished fast. Won handily; second and third driving. ASTRON, close up from the start, responded to hard riding through the stretch and outfinished GRANGE in the final drive. The latter was. away well and raced GRAVITA into defeat, but tired In the final" sixteenth. POLYCRATES began slowly, but improved his position steadily and- finished fast through the final eighth. GRAVITA showed the most speed from the start, but tired when hard ridden. HAT BRUSH dwelt and bolted while at the post, but improved his position on the Inside and was in close quarters when nearing the eighth post. WARM HEART was forced back on the far turn. SANFORD was close up all the way and ran a good race throughout. FESTIVAL was much used In following the winner and tired at the end. METZIES BUDDY ran well all the way. SCOTS GREY raced well and probably will improve. ST. HE NELL finished resolutely. ROAD AGENT was forced wide on the turns. FLANEUR ran well. TORRENCE ran a good race, but was in close quarters at the eighth poat. BALDPATE ran well. PLAIN POLLY lost much ground on the turns. EURASIA was knocked oat of any chance at fhe Start. BASAI.T quit.
