JULY STAKES TO FAIRWAY SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. NEWMARKET, England, June 29. The July Stakes, an event that engages potential candidates for the Derby the following year, was won here by Lord Derbys good colt Fairway. He defeated the Aga Khans Hakim by a head, with Lord Dewars filly Jurisdiction finishing third over the course, which is eighty yards short of three-quarters. Fairway was the favorite, at even money, while Hakim was the second choice, at 4 to 1.
