This good son of Sun Reigh raced well in his only start of the year and Avon very impressively. Since that race he breezed a mile in 1:43% over a bad track. The manner in which he worked would indicate that he is ready to run the best race of his career under any conditiens TORUS excellent race in the Preakness, when he was beaten only a nose by Vie-to; ian i;i a driving finish, warrants the belief that Reigh Count will have the E. B. McLean representative to beat for the large end ot the stake. John Schorr, his trainer, is confident of victory, due to the change in track conditions, as this son of The Porter is a superior mod runner. MISSTEP is fleet and, with his inside post position, will be in a contending position from the rise cf the barrier. The Le Mar Stock Farms colorbearer, Avith his early speed, may be abls to avoid the interference, which may occur in this large fie!d. Undjr the conditions he n.ay lead his field by a wide margin and AV. Garner may try to make every post a winning ne . MAUT1E FLYNX showed, in his only starts this year, that he has improved greatly o*er his juvenile fo:m. This son of McGce is a better three-year-old than he is generally rated and may be the one to surprise in the race. STROLLING PLAYERS winning chances depend upon his ability to negotiate the going. This English colt raced well in all his starts in this country and he may be fighting it out with the leaders at the finish. DISTRACTION will be aided by the soft going, and a good race is expected of him. The AVheatley Stables representative is a long-shot possibility with more than an out-cide chance. VITO showed exceptional mud-running ability as a juvenile and cannot be disregarded. SUN BEAU and TYPHOON are sluggish beginners, but they Avill be running strongly when some of the others are stopping. PETEE-AVRACK has worked well since his disappointing effort in the Preakness. SORTIE, coupled with "ITO, will be of considerable help to his stablemate. BOBASHELA did not run his race in the Preakness. CARTAGO raced well in the Clark Handicap with older horses. LAWLEY deAeloped from a selling plater into a stake horse. JACK HIGGINS, the Louisiana Derhy winner, Avill find tcp-nntchei s here. REPLEVIN is bred to go a route. DON Q. may be the dark horse of the race. COLONEL SIIAW, not after his race on Thursday. REIGH OLGA is coupled with Reigh Count, but Is not in his class. BONIVAN appears to be outclassed. RUMPELSTILTSKIN belongs among selling platers. MOP UP has been working with Misstep, but is only a second rater. DOVVAGIAC has no chance on form. BAR NONE is not of Derby caliber. CHARMARTEN is a recent graduate from the maiden tanks and is better than rated.
