AURORA TURF NOTES 1 s , h$ AURORA, 111., May 18. Mrs. W. E. Jones, wife of agent W. E. Jones, who was operated on for appendicitis in the Aurora Hospital, is recovering at that institution. Jack Haskell, two-year-old in the barn of trainer A J. Plack, was in serious condition here Friday. The colt has developed a high fever, having a temperature today of 104 degrees. S. T. Baxter purchased the three-year-olds Big Ace and High Spot from G. C. Gilliam and will race them in his own interests. C. Van Dusen came in from Louisville and •was a visitor at Exposition Park. Jockey C. Landolt left for Louisville on Friday night, presumably to ride A. A. Kaisers Bonivan, a probable starter in the Kentucky Derby. Jockey- Byron Ray" also left for Louisville with Landolt. The two riders are expected to n turn to Exposition Park on Monday. Mrs. R. Pollard, with Crispie Seth in the first race, claimed Broomoney from the Pueblo stable at a cost of ,800. Stillman J. Stanard, director of the Department of Agriculture of Illinois, accompanied by a large party of friends, was a visitor at Exposition Park today from Springfield, 111.
