» FOREIGN TURF NOTES I « • The St. Leger and Sydney Cup are the two notable fixtures in Australia during the month of April. These were both taken by Winalot. Wallace carried away the honors in these two stakes in 1S96, but the feat has not been equalled until the 1928 running, an interval of thirty-two years. Costing Mr. E. K. White 0,000, Winalot has now won him G,T40 in stakes. When he lost form on going to Melbourne in the spring of last year, it was not thought he-would regain it this season, and a little while after being put to work he showed soreness. However, he shook it off and then came on rapidly.
