KING NAM IN TRAINING Eligible for and May Start in Washington Park Handicap, Opening Feature. King Nadi, now seven years old, which achieved considerable renown as a young racer and was rated very highly by his late owner, J. J. Troxler, is preparing to return to the races after an absence of a year. He is eligible for the Washington Park Handicap, the opening day feature at Washington Park, May 27, and it is said there is a good chance of his starting, possibly as an entry with Golden Prince, the Cof froth Handicap winner, for King Nadi now is in the Sunshct Stable, of Bartelstein and Unna, and he occupies a stall adjoining that of Golden Prince. It was May 12 when King Nadi ran his last race, at Churchill Downs, and he was second to Martie Flynn in the Seelbach Hotel Handicap. Just before that he won the South Louisville purse from Marconi, Rhinock, Dark Phantom and other good ones. A bowed tendon caused his withdrawal from competition. Passing into the hands of Harry Unna, who has reaped considerable fame as a trainer through his success with Golden Prince, King Nadi was shipped to Tijuana and he resumed training there some time ago. He has since been in easy training at Washington Park and he will not be much longer getting to the post even if he is not a starter in the opening day handicap. This race has an added value of ,000 and is at six furlongs, which would suit King Nadi admirably, but it is probable that trainer Unna will want to send him in*o a race where there is less contention, before starting him in a stake. King Nadi is best remembered in Chicago, perhaps, for his race in the Chicago Derby, at Hawthorne, in 1925. With top weight up he finished second to Caractus. Most of his successes were scored on Kentucky tracks. He won the Grainger Memorial at Churchill Downs in 1925 and 1926. He was second to Broadway Jones in the Latonia Derby in 1925 and won the Latonia Champion Stakes of that year, with Karl Sande riding. He also ran with success in Canada, one of his victories being in the Frontier Handicap at Windsor,
