| LATONIA TURF NOTES Q — — $ LATONIA, Ky., June 24. News of the death of jockey Coleman Churchman from injuries received in a fall at the Bainbridpe track, was received here this morning. Churchman, a native of Louisville, was a most popular jockey and his sudden demise came as a severe shock to his friends among officials, horsemen and jockeys, and others. Acting for William E. Smith, president of the Standard Oil Company of Kentucky and a member of the State Racing Commission, J. T. Weaver this morning purchased the two-year-old L,e Sport from George M. Hen-drie. The latter was represented by John Walters and the transaction was private. Weaver will train the gelding. J. J. Mitchells application for a trainers license received favorable action by the stewards. Seven horses the property of E. F. Pritch-ard and headed by the Cincinnati Trophy candidate Tannery arrived here this morning from Fairmount lark. They came in charge of trainer Joe Peters. II. P. ILadley came up from Lexington and left this evening for New York. He had a conference with Walter Taylor, youthful trainer of his large and meeOMfal stable, and it was t :itativ!y decided that the stable will have Arliagtoa Park the evening of July 4.
