EASTER HERO DISAPPOINTS SPECIAL, CABLEGRAM. PARIS, France, June 24.— One of the biggest upsets and disappointments of the racing? year occurred yesterday in the Grand Steeplechase. The winner turned up in Le Touquet, the seven-year-old son of Marmousct and La Rourgeiie, owned by CI. Wattinne. Chemoulin was second, beaten by four lengths, and Fils de la Lune. third. The performance of Easter Hero, owned by the American sportsman John Hay Whitney, was the great ups.t. lie was a tremendous favorite at even money. He made a sorry showing. It was reported by a good judge that the horse turned a plate, but the jumper looked to be far from his best OtM H-tion. He was finally pulled up. Tins stunned the spectators, the Majority of whom considered him a sure winner.
