CRACK FILLY LUCILE DIES Daughter of Sweep Succumbs to Pneumonia at Lexington Insured for 0,000. . LEXINGTON, Ky., April 11. Eugene Rucker and A. K. Stone, local owners, lost one of the outstanding prospects ;imong the three-year-old fillies when Lucile, daughter of Sweep and Nettie Hastings, succumbed to pneumonia shortly before noon today. The filly contracted fever while in shipment from St. Johns Park ten days ago and when well on the road to recovery, was taken down with pneumonia. She was insured for 0,000 and her owners refused an offer of 5,000 for her last year. As a two-year-old Lucile started sixteen times, winning six races and finishing second in seven others. She accounted for two stakes and 4,765 in purse money. B. B. Williams, who developed and trained her, brought her to superb condition before shipping from Florida and she was scheduled to make her bow as a three-year-old in the Ashland Oaks, to be run here April 23. She was nominated for the Kentucky Derby.
