The latter made a game challenge entering the Htrotch but tired in the final eighth. LITTLE TOOTS tired badly in the last eighh. UNBELIEVABLE broke fast. SCALES was pinched back at the start. SAMBO G. ran away three-quarters before the start and was eased up after the break. AVOOD GOD forced the pace throughout, responded to urging when called upon and, racing JACK BIENEU into defeat in the stretch drive, drew away handily in the final sixteenth. XYLOPHONE, well up throughout, improved his position in the stretch and finished fast. JACK BIENEU was rated along steadily, saved ground and had no mishaps. CLEARANCE, well up all the way, showed a good performance. BOOM came around the leaders entering the stretch and finished resolutely. PLEASE was in close quarters in the early racing. HILARIA displayed high speed, from the start, drew away into a safe lead, was rated along steadily and, saving ground was roused in the stretch, but was in hand at the end. CHALICE slipped through on the inside entering the stretch and finished with good courage to wear down BLACK MAMMY in the final strides. The latter raced close up throughout and held on well. AALENCIENNES closed a big gap from a slow start. FIRST LADY showed a flash of early speed. ERIN could not keep up when put under pressure. GOAAAN was taken under restraint in the early racing and was taken wide entering the stretch, but finished well. CAPSTONE closed resolutely. SURTEES and BIG SPRING had no excuses.
