An bddsron favorite failed in tlip third race when J. McBrides Vandion was beaten and finished unplaced. The race went to Lady Leband, which just did get up in time to beat out Adorable. Follow Me finished fast and outlasted Vandion. The three money horses got little support. Several horses were well played in the fourth but Fallen Leaf came in for the most support and was the winner by a nose, Espinosa finishing second, after leading until near the end. Wega finished strong and was a good third. John Greener graduated from the maiden ranks in the initial race. He displayed the most speed after completing the first quarter and drew away decisively in the final furlong. Coming- from behind in the stretch, Marie Stevens was pressing Rube Samuelson closely for second place in the final stages. After following the pace of Frances E. closely to the stretch in the second race, Windflower came fast on the outside and drew clear near the end. Lady Le Band came again in the final drive of the third race to outgame Adorable after the latter had headed her on the turn for home. Follow Me outlasted the favorite, Vandion, in the stretch for third. The running of the fourth race produced the closest finish of the meeting. Fallen Leaf and Espinosa, the pacemaker, reached the wire racing like a team, with Fallen Leaf earning the verdict in the final strides.
