VICTORY FOR AMERICAN OWNER Special Cablegram GATWICK, England, Jan. 8. Ballyhan Wood, carrying the silks of the American sportsman, M. D. Blair, was first home in the Stayers Steeplechase here today. Completing the four miles well in advance of his six rivals, he defeated R. H. Courages Blue Peter by six lengths. The American jumper was held at 11 to 8 and earned 80 by his score. Ballyhan Wood is a candidate for the Grand National to be run at Aintree, March 18.
