SYDKA, under a confident ride and in close quarters on the first turn, was forced back, but saved ground and held on fairly well. DAR-FUR had no mishaps. FINLAND showed early speed. BUNTHORNE quit. GALAHAD, badly outrun until the final three-eighths, raced wide thereafter, but closed a gap. ESSARE fractious at the post, where he was placed outside the stalls, showed a fair performance under a poor ride. LIEUT. RUSSELL was outrun. ENGLEWOOD was weakly ridden.
