HILDUR ROCK, in close quarters at the eighth post, finished gamely when clear. STRAIGHT JACKET, away well, raced green. MIKE REYNOLDS was gaining fast at the end. PLEASE began off stride, moved up steadily on the outside on the turn, challenged gamely, but could not keep pace with the winner in the stretch. TALKY, quickest to get going, showed good speed and raced SIR BARLEY into defeat, then tired- when challenged by the leaders. SIR BARLEY quit after going half a mile. ORKIN came over sharply in the first eighth and, raced DEERFIELD into defeat, then tired. NEALON KAY, hard ridden, was unable to get up. BEN BLAIR raced evenly. BLUE CLOUD was weakly ridden.
