TROPICAL PARK Continued frpm third pagoj NOAJOYCE, away well, was saved until midway around tlio turn, then drew clear, but was hard ridden in the final eighth and was doing his best at the end. THE SPANIARD, hard ridden throughout, moved up menacingly on the stretch turn, then tired and swerved to the inside in the stretch. GAY PAL began fast and in full stride, but immediately dropped back, but came again in the last quarter and easily disposed of ROSE TOURNAMENT. POP GAFFNEY began fast, drew clear in the first eighth, was then steadied in front until straightened out in the stretch and, responding gamely under intermittent punishment, held CHIEFS CAMILLE safe. The latter, under strong urging throughout, was unable to improve her position in the final three-eighths. ORKIN worked his way up next to the rail and outlasted BIG SPRING. The latter began fast and appeared to hold a safe lead, only to tire in the last fifty yards. DEERFIELD, always close up but racing wide on the turn, held on resolutely and outlasted BACKWOODSMAN. The latter showed the most early speed, then tired. BRUSH, poorly ridden, was interfered with and knocked out of contention on the last turn.
