SIS ESTHER, much- the best and quick to start, was taken back under strong restraint, was well rated for a mile, moved up gradually under light hand riding and, shaking off DICK PORTER, won under restraint. The latter, a strong factor from the start, disposed of TOMMY and held the lead briefly entering the final quarter and held on well, but was not. good enough. TOMMY showed speed, saved much ground and tired in the stretch. DIM RAY, close up from the start and in hand for seven-eighths, failed to rally when punished and bore out when quitting in the stretch. MAD A. had no mishaps. LA FERIA, never far back and under restraint until reaching the last five-sixteenths, went around the leaders with a considerable loss of ground in the stretch and, closing boldly, drew away fast thereafter. .UNCLE CHARLEY, under hard riding after five-eighths, took the lead on the stretch turn, but could not withstand the winner. INTERIOR closed ground after seven-eighths. FLYING WINGS showed the most speed under strong urging and quit badly in the stretch. PRINCESS DARE was done after three-quarters. JUSTICE LOGAN moved up fast from the start, drew clear before reaching the final three-sixteenths and, maintaining good speed for the going to the end, won handily. NITUMA, in close quarters shortly after the start, worked her way up on the inside on the stretch turn, withstood light pressure gamely and, but for swerving in the last eighth would have been closer up. MISS CAREFUL, away fast, could not keep up. PRINCE DUNSET had no mishaps. HAROLD JR. was forced back in the first eighth. NORTH SHADOW was sharply impeded when ALMADELE came over shortly after the start. HIGH STORM was rated in the lead under restraint for seven-eighths, responded to a brisk shaking up, swerved when drawing clear in the last eighth, but lasted. CROWNED HEAD was inclined to bear in, but improved his position in the closing three-eighths and, tiring in the last sixteenth, was in close quarters at. the end. PRINCESS CRUSADER raced very wide throughout and was going fastest of all at the end. AGAPANTHUS showed a fair performance. PRINCE RENO responded weakly after being in close quarters on the second turn. ARISTOCRAT had no mishaps. . GLASTONBURY, favored by light weight and ie pace responded well when called upon in the final quarter and was racing well in the final stages. ATHELING, also under light weight and rated behind the pace, raced wide while going resolutely m the stretch. JIMMY MORAN saved ground throughout, showed his best speed, but tired.
