THOMAS CURRAN MEMORIAL The ,000 added Thomas Curran Memorial Stakes, at five and one-half furlongs, for two-year-old colts and geldings, is the next stake feature at Washington Park, to be decided Saturday, June 11. There were 204 nominations. Of those named about a dozen will be seen under colors in the fourth renewal of the race. Previous winners include Caruso, Schooner and Proteus. It looks as if the Thomas Curran Memorial Stakes will bring together several well-matched youngsters, such as C. C. Van Meters Red Whisk, Dixiana Studs In High, Audley Farm Stables Metaurus, W. F. Ax-tons Old Hillside, R. W. Collins Levaal and Le Bruyere, W. Crumps Head Play, Gorham Bros. Justice Logan, Greentree Stables Ruckus, Jack Howards Hernando, E. A. Iglehearts Iredell, Knebelkamp and Morris Spanish Way, E. B. McAtees Chuck B., Mereworth Studs Axia and Albert Sabaths Hopulikit.
