CUTIE FACE raced close to the pacemaker from the start, disposed of TINEMA when called upon, drew away and held BALIOS safe. The latter responded to urging on the inside from a slow start and finished gamely. HOW HIGH, a factor from the start, had no mishaps. TINEMA showed good speed, but quit when put to a drive. INCEPTION, rated along steadily, moved up gamely in the closing half mile, overcame interference after taking the final fence and wore down SPAR in the final drive. The latter jumped well, showed good speed from the start, but swerved over on the winner after taking the final jump. INDIGO, under restraint in the early stages, tired suddenly at the end. CHERRY BRANDY showed improvement, but bobbled at two of his fences. ROONEY tired badlv. ST. FRANCIS and OESEL had no mishaps. The latter improved his position steadily, went to the outside of the leader and was wearing him down at the end. WATERWAY, outrun early, finished with a rush. ORMESBY, close up early, quit badly at the finish. RACCOON moved up fast on the inside, but tired at the end. SPINACH had no mishaps. MORSEL was left at the post. Scratched— 712623Sun Meadow, 126. The latter began from outside the machine, came over fast from the outside, bothered FLIRTING and tired after taking command. FLIRTING came again and outlasted FOUR PENCE.
