1 RIVERSIDE PARK NOTES James J. Gallagher, presiding steward at Riverside Park, arrived from a vacation in Minnesota. He was accompanied by Mrs. Gallagher. Assistant starter J. Jarvis, inventor of the Waggoner-Jarvis starting gate, reached here from Texas and set up his gate in preparation for schooling. Associate steward E. K. Thornton is already on the ground, having spent the summer in Kansas City. K. S. Cleveland arrived from Thistle Down with Rip the Rip, Darkest Hour and Ricciardo. J. Helfstein sent along Well Heeled, Westys Broom and Princess Carolyne, which had campaigned in Ohio during the summer. One Long Hop, Too Much Talk and an unnamed two-year-old, the property of the Estate of J. H. Edwards, in charge of G. L. Kalbfleisch, arrived from Thistle Down. Kalbfleisch also brought Cash Play, Decline and Water Mole. The last three named will carry his colors. The stable of O. Bagley, including Kelso, Garden Seat, First Rate, Providence Lass and Theo. Rochester, also arrived from Thistle Down. Dave Christian, with Fair Catch, Alma, Lucky Prospero, My Ideal, Marcella Agnes and Beige, were in the three cars that came from Cleveland. Others that raced in Ohio during the summer that made up the shipment to come here are: H. C. Rumage, with In-finitus, More Space and Miss Hutch eson; H. G. Knott, with Finnath, Solus and Col. Cloister; R. Barnett, with Flo M. and Kittys Gem; C. Wagoshie, with Title Oak and Donald, and C. Howell, with Belgrade, Old Pride, High Hatter and Pridie. The small stable of G. Keeton, consisting of Fort Worth and Joe Patsie, which raced with some success in Canada during the summer, arrived from Windsor, Ont. C. Holt brought the good sprinter, Ante Bellum, and Blue Canopy from Windsor. Royal Chef, Happy Fanny and Good Sport, the property of H. B. Woolf, also unloaded from Windsor. John Oliver, with Giggle Box, Marie O., Flying Atom and Enthusiastic, and W. E. Woolery, with Coin Collector and My Joanne, also shipped from the Canadian tracks. Condition books of the first seven days of racing made their appearance and tends to put racing on a higher scale here than formerly, as the cheapest claiming price is 00.
