FINAL CHICAGO MEETING I AT SPORTSMANS PARK CICERO, 111., Oct. 7. After weeks of preparation, Sportsmans Park, the local half-mile course of the National Jockey Club, is ready for its first annual fall meeting, opening Monday and continuing for nineteen days. This meeting will conclude the 1932 season of racing in the Chicago area and Illinois as well and will offer enthusiasts a good brand of sport. Edward J. OHare, president and general manager, and his assistants, today reported everything in order for the opening. Racing secretary Robert Shelley has high hopes of arranging a good program for Monday and, with more than ample racing material at his disposal, anticipates no trouble arranging attractive cards daily. All stalls at Sportsmans Park and those available at adjacent Hawthorne have been assigned and approximately 800 horses are registered for the meeting. During the period of the meeting horsemen whose racers are quartered at Hawthorne will be permitted to use the Hawthorne track for training. Entries for Mondays races will be accepted Saturday at Sportsmans Park, Hawthorne and Lincoln Fields and assembled and released from the latter track at the usual time. Entries for the Goldenrod Handicap, to be run Tuesday, also close Saturday. This event is given over to three-year-olds and over and will be decided at six and one-half furlongs.
