Start poor and slow. Won driving; second and third easily. FLYING SAILOR moved into command at the start, showed speed and outlasted DUNBAR in the final strides. The latter, well up and under restraint, went to the outside of the leader in the stretch and finished fast. VESPA, a factor throughout, swerved to the inside at the eighth post, then quit. FLY ON had no mishaps. CAPT. JERRY was bumped about at the start. CALCHAS was away in a tangle. SPANISH ISLE was knocked back soon after the start.
