STEWARDS INVESTIGATE RACES COLLINSVILLE, 111., Oct. 8. Stewards John T. Ireland and Julius G. Reeder are still investigating the last two races of Noahs Pride and Sobieha. Jockey L. J. Cunningham, who rode Noahs Pride Friday and Sobieha when the two horses met the time previous, is under an indefinite suspension, and Edward McCuan, trainer of Sobieha, and the McCuan horses, and Tommy Root, and the Sari Stable horses, are under suspension pending the outcome of the investigation. The stewards stated this morning that they expect to have the investigation completed the first of the week. That they will not tolerate any nefarious practices was shown during the past week when they suspended indefinitely David Shaw, Danny Jones and the horse Chokoloskee for irregularities in the claim of the horse from H. V. Stevens and shortly after the running of the handicap Friday, at the termination of which Sobieha was the winner over Noahs Pride, they issued their ruling.
