FEUDAL LORD, followed in near pursuit of the pace, was carried wide by TRACTABLE entering the stretch and drew out through the closing sixteenth. MAEANTIC saved ground entering the stretch, took a brief lead when the leaders went wide, but was unable to hold the winner in the closing test. HEAP GOOD closed with good courage. TRACTABLE, away fast, came wide into the stretch and faltered badly in the stretch run. ROUGH WATERS showed speed through the stretch. PAPALICO was never a factor. PRINCETON went to the front soon after the start, opened up a good lead and was in hand all through the closing eighth. ZONDA moved up stoutly, held on willingly in the drive, but was unable to threaten the leader. ALLANAH, shuffled back after passing the half-mile ground, came gamely in the stretch run. FEDERAL RESERVE saved a lot of ground at the stretch turn, but was unable to improve his position in the drive. NELSON faltered after showing early speed. LACE SHAWL tired. SEA KALE, well up throughout, was much used in disposing of CANDY POT and weakened in the final eighth. SHORELINT closed some ground. CANDY POT faltered after showing early speed. BUBBLING OUT, reserved close to the pace, saved ground at the stretch turn, fought it out gamely and outlasted DEEDIE at the end. The latter, a forward factor from the start, disposed of FAIR JACK, lost ground entering the stretch and just missed. DEDUCE worked his way up gradually and .closed gamely, though no match for the first two. FAIR JACK, unruly at the post, unseated his rider, showed good speed, but faltered in the final drive. DARK MISSION, rated along in front after disposing of STEPHANUS, held on gamely in the drive. LIVE ONE, reserved ""early, while following the leaders, gained a brief lead entering the stretch, but faltered in the closing test. STRONGHEART, well up all the way, responded gamely in the last quarter-mile and wore down DIZZY in the last few strides. The latter fought it out gamely all the way, disposed of SAM PASS, but was unable to withstand the closing challenge of the winner. CLEAR SKY, kept under urging through the last three-eighths, was unable to reach the leaders. WOOD GOD, well up, failed to reach the leaders under punishment. TOP HATTIE moved up with a rush around the turn, but weakened in the final drive. REJUVENATION was always outrun.
