I LATONIA TURF NOTES J s Col. M. J. Winn, executive director of the Latonia Jockey Club, was at his desk Saturday. During his absence he directed the more important details of the meeting from his offices at Lincoln Fields and in Chicago, from where he arrived Friday evening. William Crump purchased from the Velie Stock Farm the yearling bay colt by Blind Play Registration, ,by Spanish Prince II. Crump plans to open a public stable and will consider going to winter racing with an acceptable number of horses. Crumps good colt, Fead Play, one of the leading western hopes for Kentucky Derby honors next year, will be wintered in Kentucky. J. G. Langs Elmtree Stable was a belated arrival from Canada, from where trainer C. W. Damon shipped Footmark, Elcidio, Rose Twig, March King and Ladykin. E. E. Watson; checked in with On Leave, Starboard Light, Baritone and Hartford Girl. The Irisbbred three-year-old Border Warrant, owned by Raoul Walsh, will be pointed for the" two miles -and. one-quarter Latonia Cup Handicap, to be run on the closing day of the meeting. Trainer W. 2. Martin has The Foreigner going along well and worked him one mile and one-quarter in 2:15 Saturday morning. Licenses granted Friday included the following: Trainers L. Gentry and A. J. iSchuetze; jockeys G. Riley and E. M. McLaughlin, and L. Gentry was authorized a3 agent for H. C. Hatch. Injuries sustained by Playtime in the Columbus Day Handicap here Wednesday, will lay him up for the winter, according to trainer John Daniels. J. T. Taylor returned from Beaumont Farm, where he inspected the weanling yearlings and broodmares R. M. Eastman and Mrs. E. L. Swikard has there. He plans to work the seven yearlings on the private track next Sunday. J. Tandy Hughes turned W. R. Coes Pom-peia over Benny Creech. Along with Pom-peia, which was prepared for racing at Lexington, Hughes brought in his own Big Moment and Tommy Basil, owned by Grover Hughes. The latter broke fifteen yearlings at Lexington and has disposed of eight of the youngsters. The yearlings J. T. Taylor is preparing for racing under the silks of R. M. Eastman and Mrs. E. L. Swikard include a chestnut son of Supremus and Mazda, bay filly by Su-premus Patty Victoria, bay filly Phara-mond Heliozoa, bay filly Pharamond Clonakilty, bay colt Phar Amond Nut Brown Maid, bay colt Pharamond Easter Pageant, and a chestnut colt by Supremus Belle Alliance. The latter five are owned by Mr. Eastman and the former two by Mrs. Swikard.
