TREMENDOUS, on the inside at the start and racing in the thick of contention, came through a narrow opening on the inside of TABAKU in the stretch and outlasted the latter in a hard drive. The latter raced BALLY BAY into defeat, showed ability in the going and fought it out gamely. SWEET CHARIOT, prominent throughout, could not menace the first two. ST. CHRISTOPHER could not reach the leaders in the early stages. PRECIOUS DOLLAR had no mishaps. BALLY BAY quit. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third the same. SID, steadied when REVELATION moved into command at the eighth fence, took an easy lead when the latter blundered at the twelfth fence and held SOME HERO safe over the last two jumps. SOME HERO, a factor throughout, responded to punishment in the final half mile while saving much ground, but was eo match for the winner. REVELATION raced well for a mile and a half. MIRTON was never a factor. FORAY and MIRTON were badly bumped when PRIVA swerved out at the start. PRIVA fell at the eleventh fence. DAIQUIRI would not extend himself and was pulled up at the ninth obstacle. BRASH fell at the ninth and WHIZZ BY lost his rider at the second fence. Scratched 76801 Afloat, 130. EVEN STEPHEN, as usual, slow to get going and shuffled back early, worked his way up, but was not good enough for the winner. BLONDISH, a factor throughout, continued gamely under punishment. VON SION was used up racing MECAT into defeat and tired badly. ALMOND was held safe. MECAT tired. BANNACH LATH raced wide all the way. CLEAR KNIGHT quit early.
