1 BOWIE TURF NOTES G. C. Winfrey took Bolilee from the Bel-air Stud for ,000 out of the second race and N. E. Stanton secured General Court from F. J. Vollmer out of the sixth for ,500 on Saturday at Pimlico. Jockey G. Rose, who rode with good success on New York tracks during the past season, was an arrival and will ride free lance. Clyde Phillips, who served as starter at Langollen Farms, the estate of Jock Whitney on Saturday, returned from that point. Race fans coming here via automobile are advised to use the Washington Boulevard to Laurel and then take the road which will bring them into the course near the seven-eighths post. This will enable them to park closer to the grandstand and club house. The leading winning rider during this meeting will be presented with a handsome pin in the shape of a jockeys hat. The pin is a gift of general manager Joseph B. Boyle and treasurer Thomas Kirby Lynch. Secretary Joseph McLennan, after scanning the nominations for the four stakes to be run here and checking up on the horses on the grounds, states that he will offer the best sport since the course was built, that is, if the weather man does not spoil the track.
