GOLDEN WAY IN FINE FORM Training Splendidly for Kenner Stakes Engagement Other Training Moves. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 9. Joseph E. Wideners Golden Way is coming to his engagement in the Kenner Stakes, to be run Tuesday, in magnificent fashion. This is a gallop of a mile and three-sixteenths and the son of John P. Grier and Milky Way H. goes along in a fashion to suggest his having developed into a first class stayer. His trial this morning was a mile and a furlong in 1:56. This fellow is not in the Saranac Handicap to be run Friday, though many of the candidates for that prize enjoy both engagements. C. V. Whitneys The Darb has both engagements and he went a mile in 1:43 this morning in a way to suggest entire readiness. He is asked to take up 122 pounds for the Saranac and may be reserved for the longer gallop. Mr. Khayyam, winner of the American Derby, is in both and he also has been galloping well for this event. This morning Matt Brady only had him move along for a half mile in :47, but he has had plenty of galloping and looks exceedingly fit. Larranaga, intended for another try in the Merchants and Citizens Handicap Saturday, went along for a mile and a furlong in 1:56. The son of Apprehension is in his form and if he is sent to the post Saturday he will be the top weight, provided the champion Equipoise is not raced, Equipoise has not been training for the running and it is hardly expected he will be sent to the post.
