PROMINENT OLD TIME RIDER RIDERTORONTO TORONTO Ont May 22 Among the vis ¬ itors at the Ontario Jockey Club course on Monday was H E Dup Douglas now a prominent resident of Woodstock Ont Mr Douglas was a crack jockey fifty years ago and rode Willie W in the Kings Plate of 1884 In 1890 while riding the favorite Rose May Bud in the historic Guineas the filly fell with him and broke her hip while Doug ¬ las sustained a broken leg He did consid ¬ erable riding for the late Charles Boyle at Monmouth Park at Eatontown N J De ¬ spite his years Mr Douglas is still a keen horseman and rides whenever the oppor ¬ tunity presents itself
