REMILLARD STARS IN SADDLE Pilots Three Winners at Fort Erie — Bylona Scores in Lafayette Hotel Purse. FORT ERIE, Ont., July 13.— Jockey P. Remillard, with three riding triumphs, the final of which came in the best offering of the afternoon, held the spotlight on a featureless program that was served for the ninth day of the meeting at the Fort Erie course of the Niagara Racing Association here today. Starting his triple with Fire Reel, a neglected factor in the initial event of the afternoon Remillard finished third with Young Satin in the next event, then was unplaced astride Pot au Mint in £he third. He then settled down to have Missouri Jim and Bylona returned winners of the fourth and fifth races respectively and his superior horsemanship played an important part in each of his triumphs. Fire Reel was winner by a neck, Missouri Jim, scored by a nose and Bylona, winner of the fifth, and featured Lafayette Hotel Purse, under claiming conditions, was past the line to- win by a neck in one of the best finishes of the afternoon. In the Lafayette Hotel Purse, Bylona and Meridian Queen, caused starter Rowe to have them placed on the outside. The start was a good one but unfortunately, Bylona was sliding out as the tape was released and he shouldered additional handicap when he was forced wide on the first turn. Reaching the back stretch No Doubt and Meridian Queen were setting a fast pace and Chips was holding a big advantage over Bylona. Remillard was biding his time nicely and giving his mount every chance to settle in his best stride. Meridian Queen soon had No Doubt flying distress signals but Bylona, Field Goal and Tela were to be reckoned with despite their rear positions. Coming abreast of the leaders a furlong out, Bylona, under a rousing finish gamely got to the front and succeeded in getting the decision. Despite the ordinary caliber of the different fields that performed during the afternoon, a crowd of exceptionally large size attended and the sport that was furnished resulted in clean and wholesome entertainment.
