WILL DISCUSS HORSE TONICS FORT ERIE, Ont., July 13.— Through the efforts of David S. Gillies, steward of the Independent Canadian Racing Association, plans are being arranged for a meeting between horsemen and Professor G. H. W. Lucas, department of pharmology, University of Toronto and provincial analyst in the Fort Erie paddock next Wednesday at 12:30 p. m. Dr. Lucas will discuss the reactions of various tonics on thoroughbreds and will answer questions of horsemen on this subject. The meeting should do much to settle the question of what tonic may or may not be used in conjunction with the operation of the saliva test. Horsemen have shown eagerness to attend such a meeting and are expected to attend in full force.
