DREAM KISS, in the thick of contention from the beginning, was kept under stout handling while on the outside of the leaders, continued strongly and wore down LADY WEST WICK in the closing sixteenth. LADY WESTWICK was rushed hard to take command, met persistent bids in the first half mile, but faltered approaching the finish. SMALL DEVIL was under stout handling from the start, saved ground and held on willingly for the closing test. PRINCESS ALICE was forced to race on the outside, but showed a good effort. EVENING HOUR was crowded back early and lacked racing room until reaching the home stretch. GAY MINETTA lost ground the entire trip. WAR LASSIE was unable to enter contention. PROTRACTOR, prominent early, challenged strongly approaching the home stretch, wore down CLEAR KNIGHT and had enough in reserve to stall off TRUE CHARM. The latter was hard ridden to hold a contending position in the early racing, responded to punishment in the final drive and closed full of run. CLEAR KNIGHT shook off BOBBY BUXTON when midway of the turn, saved ground, but tired fast in the last eighth. ROMOLA closed willingly after lacking her usual early speed. EDYTH M. was under stout urging throughout and had no mishaps. BOBBY BUXTON was used up setting the pace and tired. SISTER VINIE raced evenly. TULEYRIES WAND was unable to threaten. PRINCE DRAKE, hustled into a forward position during the opening eighth, followed IMMUNE closely until reaching the turn, took command under pressure and was hard urged to the finish. IMMUNE bore out entering the home stretch after being displaced, but continued courageously and was catching the winner slowly. SUN CLOTHING bettered his position steadily between horses and came with good energy in the closing test. DEARZIN was strongly ridden and saved ground the entire trip. ARDOR had speed in spots. CABOCHON could not engage the leaders. PISH TUSH raced evenly. MEROVECH broke well, but raced in dull form and can do better. QUEENS FLAG displayed speed for a half mile. AEGIS, sent into a slight lead in the early stages, met stiff contention from WITAN in the first five-eighths, responded strongly when the final drive came and just lasted to withstand LEANA G. The latter ran in close pursuit of the leaders, remained on the outside when placed to a drive, then came strongly to finish wearing down the winner steadily. WITAN forced a steady pace from the beginning and held on gamely in. the clnsinc drive. SPARKY came wide into the home stretch, but finished fast. FEUDAL LORD was irf trouble during the early racing, but came willingly after the home stretch. HIGH TORQUE raced prominently until reaching the home stretch, then failed to rally under a drive. SUN ABBOT, reserved off the pace for three-quarters, went into contention rapidly, drew on almost even terms with the winner, but hung approaching the finish. KALOLA raced in nearest pursuit of the winner in the early stages, then held on stoutly when the real test came. GOODY GOODY was in close quarters on the inside in the last three-sixteenths and could not find racing room. HAPPY EASTER had no excuse. KIBITZER and POLITEN were outrun. SUN CLOISTER, away clear and fast, raced into a long lead early, saved ground, then held on gamely to withstand SMEAR. The latter broke in a tangle while being handled at the barrier, was badly blocked at the first turn when his rider attempted to drive through on the inside, raced to the outside on the back stretch fend closed with a rush after making up much ground and appeared much the best. HARKY raced in close pursuit of the winner for seven-eighths, then tired. SHASTA STAR raced evenly throughout. RETRIBUTION ""was unable to menace at any stage. Overweight Retribution, 3 pounds.
