SHASTA BROOM, never far back and on the outside, responded fast after a half mile, reached the lead near the final turn and held SEMESTER safe. The latter, fractious at the post, began from outside -the gate, improved his position on the outside of the field,- bore out entering the stretch, but closed fast when straightened. ANNE L., a strong factor from the start, tired after offering a bold bid in the stretch. DARK VISION moved up with a rush after a half mile, but tired. FOXLAND HALL raced wide. ROCKHURST, used up reaching the lead, quit under pressure. DODIODO beean slowly and showed little. NED O. was never prominent RACKETEER and OWEN quit. Scratched 08971 Aidas Pal, 102. NERISSA went to the front early, withstood the challenge of ANCELOT after going half the distance and , drew out in the stretch. AGGIE- STAR dropped back as if beaten in the back stretch, but came again in the run home and finished fast. ANCELOT moved up to the winner at the half-mile post, but tired in the , last eighth and barely lasted to save third money. SUN THORN was always close to the pace, raced wide on the stretch turn and seemed to falter an eighth out, but came back again and was gaining at the finish. PLATINUM BLONDE hugged the rail entering the stretch to close well. JOE SAM made up ground. PORTERNESIA was done after going a half mile and showed a poor effort. SPANISH LASSIE showed good speed in pacemaking and held on gamely. CHOSEN PAL made a strong move approaching the stretch turn, then faltered, but came again on the outside in the stretch and was going well at the finish.
