OVERSHOES took command at once, drew clear after disposing of THE HEATHEN, bore to the inside when the rider broke a stirrup iron and failed to withstand the winner. GALLAHAD MAID, away slowly and forced wide while racing forwardly, closed with a rush. CONTRAST raced evenly. ODD BLUE and THE HEATHEN quit. SEQUOIA was unprepared at the start. PLAYING ON, badly ridden and lucky, took command soon after the start, was permitted to drop back when challenged, came to the inside for the drive, reached the lead nearing the final three-sixteenths and withstood CHIEFS PRIDE. The latter, away fast, took command after five-sixteenths, drew clear under good iirging, gave way to the winner, but held on gamely. CROWNED HEAD, outrun for three-eighths, responded fast in the drive and was wearing down the leaders at the end. CAPTAIN RED closed with a rush. JOHN BANE had a rough trip, but held on well. FROST BITE tired. EREBUS, shuffled back at the far turn, showed little thereafter. HAMMEL quit. FLASHING THRU was never prominent. Scratched 07755 Bright Bubble, 108. CIVILIAN took command at once and, under good urging while setting the pace, tired fast in the last eighth. EARTH SHAKER, oturun for a half mile, closed with a rush. CHUCK WAGON raced evenly and pulled up sore. SUNCIRCLE BLAZE stumbled soon after, the start and, outrun to the final eighth, made up ground thereafter. ROYAL LINK and BILL DON OGHUE quit. HASTY GLANCE failed to improve her position under strong urging, made up little ground in the drive. BACK FENCE closed with a rush and worked out an extra eighth in 1:27. PLUMAGE, well up from the start, was permitted to drop, far back after three-eighths, but made up ground in the drive. TIGHT WAD tired after improving his position., SIR DEAN quit.
