PIETY moved up very fast on the back stretch and, coming to the outside in the run home, wore down LITTLE SON in the last eighth to draw out, but stumbled and almost fell in the last few strides. LITTLE SON opened up a good lead while setting the pace and raced gamely to the finish. SAND BABY was. outrun to the last quarter and raced very wide on the stretch turn, but finished gamely. HIGH MAN was always close to the leaders and raced well to the end. LATER ON raced fairly well. PERTINACIQUS was in close quarters rounding the first turn and quit badly in the last quarter. NERISSA closed some ground.
